Davis grew up in the piedmont of North Carolina but has spent the last eight years living and working in the outdoors in Southern Appalachia. His father took him on backpacking and hiking trips out West when he was younger , though he grew closer to the mountains of Western North Carolina while attending Appalachian State University. He fell in love with trail work as a volunteer in 2012 and began to find as many trail maintenance opportunities as he could. He has worked as a trail crew leader with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy since 2014, thru-hiked the A.T. in 2016, and is excited to pursue a new career with the Pisgah Conservancy as the organization’s Trail Specialist. He is an avid backpacker, trail runner, and wants to pursue more mountain biking and bouldering in the Pisgah.
